Jean-Baptiste named to All-Conference Team
One Clinton Community College Men’s Basketball athlete has been named to the 2018/19 All-Mountain Valley Conference Team. Rijkaard Jean Baptiste (Brooklyn, NY) was named Third Team All-Mountain Valley. As a first year player with the Cougars, Baptiste played in and started every game.
Baptiste was a crucial part of the Cougars' offense, leading the team in scoring with 16 points per game. His efficiency on the offensive end really stood out, shooting 44% from the field, 73% from the free throw line, and 39% from behind the arc. He also averaged six rebounds per game, and three assists per game.
Coach Daugherty had some strong words regarding Baptiste stating, "He (Baptiste) has a really quick first step, and can beat almost anyone in the conference with it. When he gets going and heats up, he’s really hard to stop. We saw a couple outbursts from him this year when he just could not miss. We expect bigger and better things from him next year!”
