2019 Lady Cougars season ends with promising results
The Cougars 2019 campaign saw Coach Katie Lee take the reigns with her first season as Cougars Head Coach. The season concluded with a record of 5-10. Troubles with depth and injuries plagued the Cougars throughout the season, but they played hard throughout the season and found themselves in many close games. These games included wins against Jamestown Community College where Avery Lambert and Katelyn Southwick each collected two goals and two assists. This was later followed by a three game winning streak against Jefferson Community College, Adirondack Community College, and Word of Life Bible Institute. In these three games, the Cougars outscored their opponents 9-4!
Multiple athletes also saw individual success on the season. First year Goalkeeper Paige Chilton had a stellar season, finishing 4th in the Nation in saves with 125. Avery Lambert led the team in points with eight goals and three assists, while Captain Katelyn Southwick contributed two goals and three assists. Juliana Gardner also contributed with two goals, and Abigail Webb chipped in with one goal and one assist.
Unfortunately the Cougars say goodbye to five second year athletes: Abigail Webb, Avery Lambert, Bryanna Garrand, Juliana Gardner, and Katelyn Southwick. Their contributions to the program over the past two years have been second to none, and we thank them for all they have done for the Cougars athletics program.
With a strong recruiting class the Cougars hope to build off this season and find even more success in the 2020 campaign.
