Women Shine at Regional Meet
The Clinton Community College Women's Cross Country team ran well on a tough course at the NJCAA Division III Region III Championships hosted by Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday, October 26. Sophomore Montana Kirkum (Morrisonville, N.Y./Saranac) led the Cougars with her 18th place finish, covering the 5-kilometer course in 27:16.28. Freshman Kiley Giddings (Keeseville, N.Y./AuSable Valley) was close behind in 20th place with a time of 27:54.42. Sophomore Rosanne Trevail (Cadyville, N.Y./Home schooled) placed 27th in a time of 30:08.28. The overall winner in the women's race was Ryan McKenzie from Hudson Valley Community College in a time of 22:12.20. Corning Community College took the team victory with 37 points. With their performances, Kirkum and Giddings qualified for the national meet on Saturday, November 2 at Holyoke Community College.
